Using roads all-year round in Africa is a big challenge. During the rainy season the roads get severely damaged and in the dry season dust is a big issue. Since maintenance is very cost intensive, many roads are not well maintained and therefore hard to drive or simply become inaccessible. The treatment of dirt roads with a new Dutch innovation, Road Rapid, solves this problem. Using a mixture of locally available soil, water and the Road Rapid agent results in a permanent change of molecular structure of the soil. Road Rapid is very cost-effective and easy to use and will create roads which are up to 15 times stronger than normal rural earth roads and it will be done by local labour. This in an environmentally way, the solution to creating sustainable roads.
