As the world is trying to become less dependent on just a handful of countries for energy production, hydrogen is widely seen as an important energy carrier that can break this dependency. During this session, Africa Works! knowledge partner TNO will share insights in the world of green hydrogen production and export. How can African countries contribute to the expected global trade in green hydrogen? During a second presentation, TNO will present its recent study into a potential energy-partnership between North Africa and Europe, exploring potential future trade in electricity and hydrogen. We will also hear from Dutch company XINTC Global, producer of modularised alkaline electrolysers which are used to create green hydrogen – about their solution: switching diesel generators to ‘green’ hydrogen generators.
