Mrs. Rahel Boon-Dejene is the Founder/CEO of RBD Consultancy, a Dutch-based firm focusing on sustainable business practices. Since 2009, RBD has been a pioneer in promoting social entrepreneurship and has supported the corporate and development aid world in designing strategic CSR policy, designing and implementing social programmes, and measuring Social Return on Investment effectively. In 2010, she founded R&D Group, an Ethiopian-based purpose-driven organisation, that provides Business Process Outsourcing, Business Acceleration, and Talent Development services to renowned local and international organisations. She is a Business Partner and EMEA Business Development at ORTEC Sports, a Dutch sports-technology company that provides data analytics to the global sports industry.

With a mission to help develop responsible future leaders (Intrapreneurs vs Entrepreneurs), her initiatives have raised awareness about education, technology SDGs / sustainability, and entrepreneurship. Promoting SDG8, her ventures have so far impacted +5000 professionals and worked with +120 Small & Medium enterprises (SMEs) and startups to help them accelerate their business effectively. To elevate African businesses from lack of access to finance, skills, networks, and information, she has soft-launched SHARE marketplace, a digital platform that connects businesses with on-demand experts and investors.

In 2011, she also founded Partners4Change (P4C), a platform that mobilised +150 young professionals from all sectors to collaborate to improve sustainable development outcomes through smarter, more innovative, and effective public-private partnerships (PPPs). On January 12th and 13th, she and her team organised an innovative P4C 2022 event, entitled Dare2Share connecting +200 diaspora and Ethiopian professionals to create a lasting impact by supporting home-grown solutions through knowledge and investment.

Born in a small town in Ethiopia, this proud mother of five is a remodel for young women who strive towards financial independence and work-life balance. She is born social entrepreneur who aims to bring positive impact on young professionals by creating job opportunities, developing their skills, and stimulating entrepreneurship. She holds an honor MBA degree from the University of Wolverhampton (UK), Post-graduate studies in Social Entrepreneurship from the University of Amsterdam and BA in International Business Management from HAN University of Applied Science in The Netherlands.

Rahel is the official moderator of the 6th edition of Africa Works! 2024.
