Africa is dealing with a significant high level of population growth and an immense increase of production and consumption. This leads to a higher demand of stable and reliable energy, which is a serious challenge in the current energy distribution network. Sustainable energy is the key; mini- and smart grids have been identified as an important solution for electrification shortages and can make a huge impact on the accessibility of energy. In this workshop (hosted by the Off-Grid Factory) we will take a look at how mini- and smart-grids can play a role in this growing issue. How can mini-grids contribute to the availability of enough energy to the rapidly growing African population and economy? How can you manage the available energy in the smartest way possible? What are the ins and outs of financing a mini-grid project and who are the main stakeholders? Please join us in this interactive workshop session to find out.
